THS4552: ths4552

Part Number:THS4552

Hello TI,

The THS4552 has a GBP parameter. Could you please explain the difference between the GBP parameter and SSBW and LSBW? In what aspects is this parameter typically applied during selection?

Taylor:

Hi,

We have received your post and the investigation will take some time. Thank you for your patience.

Taylor:

Hi,

GBP is the product of the amplifier's gain and its bandwidth (at that gain). So for small signal, GBP of an amplifier typically remains constant especially at higher gains. So as the gain increases the bandwidth should proportionately decreases. But for lower gain because of the gain peaking, this might not hold true (see figure 6-1 of the datasheet). So for lower gain say G=1, you should, look of SSBW (small signal bandwidth) for finding the device bandwidth. Where as LSBW (Large signal Bandwidth) should be looked upon for the  the bandwidth when the input is a large signal.
