Part Number:BQ25792Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25790
Hello Ti,
We use bq25792 to charge a battery model 18650-1S2P with a charging voltage of 9V. When the battery is in low battery mode, we cannot maintain the maximum current, and the REG1C_Charger_Status_1 register is in CV mode and cannot switch to CC mode. How can we solve this problem?
Regards,
Lucas

What is the battery voltage in "low battery mode"? If you mean the battery is below MINSYS voltage, then the charger clamps the max charge current to 2A regardless of charge current register setting.

The battery voltage is 3.8V, which is higher than the MINSYS voltage (3.5V). The measured charging current is only maintained at 0.8A, and we cannot continue to increase the current

What do the status and fault registers in REG0x1B through 0x27 report? Is the charger in CV or taper mode because the voltage at its BATP is already at VREG? Is input power being limited by IINDPM, VINDPM or TREG?

If the voltage at BATP is at CV but above you mentioned battery voltage measured 3.8V? I'm assuming VREG>3.8V? Is that 3.8V measured at the battery pack or battery simulator? If so, then is the extra voltage drop from BATP to the 3.8V due to resistive connection from charger BAT and BATP times ICHG to 3.8V measurement point?

Lucas Hao:
VREG is 4.2V, and 3.8V is measured before the battery is connected to the device. After charging with the device, the voltage at the battery measurement point is the same as the BATP voltage.
