TPS2546: If the device PIN9(STATUS) open-drain output can be used as NC?

TPS2540 was used for the design completely. But cause of the delivery cycle, We need to make sure that TPS2546 can P2P replace TPS2540.

There is a different between them as PIN9 define. If the device PIN9(STATUS) open-drain output can be NC?
